Hi Guys, I was visiting a friend at his shop a couple of weeks ago and while I was there, he asked me if I was interested in having a peek at a car that was towed in for a no start that they were having trouble with. Well, I could not turn down a challenge like that, so I had to take him up on the offer! KOEO I had fuel pump and CEL illumination. KOEC I had no fuel pump, no pulse, however, I did have spark. How is this possible? Maybe this is the time for a little ign/ijnection strategy on this one. There are 3 VRT's in the distributor which feed crank and cyl position to the ECM. The ECM calculates an IGT signal (IGnition Timing) and sends this information to the igniter. The igniter then fires the coil and returns an IGF signal (IGnition Fault) back to the ECM for triggering of the injectors and fuel pump. So knowing this, it made sense that threre could be spark with no pulse or fuel pump. The next move was to check the IGT/IGF relationship. Ah ha! .... a good IGT, but no IGF......now here's the part where you come in. What is your diagnostic conclusion at this point?? All suggestions are welcome, unless, of course, your initials are D.H. .....:) Sorry Dave.....Jamie
