From: Dave Hurtubise CommentsHi Jamie I'll take a shot at this. It is my understanding that the SBEC takes a Baro reading voltage, goes into its look-up table and calculates the hg. Once the vehicle starts it looks at voltage of the map, back to the look-up table and calcultes hg..subtracts this from the primary Baro reading and uses this as its calculation for displaying HG. It does not use this for fuel calculations though. If the voltage goes out of spec and a code is set..for example you will see that the voltage for map is 5.0 volts on the scanner. As you rev the engine you will see that the hg. display changes with engine load..this is a display calculation of RPM versus TPS. [_borders/disc3_aftr.htm] |
