Keep in mind that I have never used the Fluke 98 Series 1. ---- The Fluke 98-II upgrade adds a slightly different menu with larger fonts to enable us “older” techs to be able to read it <VBG>. It adds another 10:1 blue filter and an auto-setup menu for dual o2 sensor testing. The Flight Record mode will record at time divisions from 200 ms/div to 1 microsec/div. They’ve added the Min – Max Trend Plot, this function is similar to the function of the Vantage. I think you also have to do the upgrade to use the DIS adapters. They also perform a calibration check which, the last time I checked, cost about $125 Cdn. ---- The upgrade does not include the really cool blue screen that you get with a true Series II scopemeter. The screen alone cost over $500 when I checked into it. ---- Whether or not the upgrade is worth it, I guess, depends on how you use your scope. We do emissions testing here so I have used the dual o2 sensor function a fair bit. The flight record function works quite well although it only saves the screens that “you see” and not the screen samples in between. I also use the DIS ignition function quite a bit, so in my opinion the upgrade is well worth the $$$. Hope this helps -- Harvey [_borders/disc3_aftr.htm] |
