Hey guys, the other thread about diagnostics got me thinking about menu pricing. The shop I work for is trying to sort out how to go about menu pricing diagnostics and I was just wondering what input everyone had out there specifically in regards to drivability problems when there are so many areas of the vehicle that could be causing the trouble. What would the first stage of diagnostics involve? How much time should be spent on it? How much should be charged out? Should the same things be checked no matter what the vehicle, no matter what the drivability problem may be? Say we feel that the problem is in a certain area and need to diagnose that area, and don't want to check other things that may be on the "menu". Do we check them anyway just to fulfill the requirements of the work order or do we go in the direction that we feel is most necessary to go in? I guess this is where menu pricing confuses me. I look forward to your responses to this. - Jamie
