Hi Louie, One thing that comes to mind is; What is the actual compression? These truck engines should have at least 175psi. If the engine was rebuilt recently, it may have the wrong pistons. We did an engine on one and this exact problem happened. If the compression is too low it may not ping as desired and the ECM will flag code 43. Tap the block with a hammer at 2000rpm and watch the scanner for knock signal. If it then works, I would look further into the engine history. Mike
