I agree with dave about cam timing.I had a geo tracker with similar complaint.crankshaft keyway had slipped just a little. When i was checking cam timing, crankshaft timing marks showed TDC but crank really was not at true piston TDC.With lack of power complaint like this look down spark plug hole at piston and confirm true TDC.Hope this helps.
