I have found repeated Catalyst failure (breaking up) in a few models of Cadillacs. Although single exhaust on these models, the problem was related to the PEDES valves, not diverting the air-injection on decel. The Camaro uses a similar valve, and if the same defect is present, I suspect that having the AIR injecting on decel could cause minor "back-fires" in the catalytic converter, shaking loose the substrate. In the Cadillacs I could only hear minor "rumbling" in the exhaust on long decels. This rumbling disappeared after the PEDES valves where replaced. Other vehicles with premature loosening of the substrates I have found being caused by vibrations. If the vehicle has been fitted with an aftermarket cat, the original supports or hangers may be missing, causing excessive vibration in the Cat.
