Emissions Trouble-shooting Through 5 Gas Analysis
Level I

I found this course to be top quality. Having Instructors that work daily on
emissions and drivability problems put a real-world perspective on the topics
discussed. I still refer to my course book for reference. It is full of
valuable information and little known discussed topics. Topics like quench
zones, cooling system corrosion, fuel quality, and other little known topics
were discussed shedding new light on mysteriously high emissions without a
typical problem. All emission components were fully studied, and the
theory behind their operation gives a more complete understanding of diagnostic
procedures. I now have no trouble reading an IM240 report for a late model
emissions failure. No need to revert to ppm, and no waiting for a conversion
graph to download. A straightforward procedure for diagnosing any emissions
failure was covered and raised my REI to Quality Repair Award levels.
I would and have recommended this course to others, and am watching the web
site for the latest courses in my area.
Personally I benefited greatly from learning to diagnose drivability problems
using pre-cat gasses. Of particular interest is the ability to test injector
performance using these gasses, and comparing the open loop running emissions to
closed loop. I now can recommend injector repair work with confidence, no more
guessing.

This was a great course guys, a lot of effort was involved. This course was
effective because it started with the basics, and by understanding these it was
easier to comprehend how a gas is formed or reacts with another. It is now
easier to identify problems and pinpoint the source. Dave and Mike are real,
seeing what we see everyday. No tricks were learned but just the right way to do
things.
Experience makes a good teacher not a book alone. Take this course it will
save you valuable time and money.
Thanks guys.

I really appreciate guys like Dave and Mike. You share your knowledge and
experiences, which is very valuable in my work. It keeps me thinking more
clearly and have more of a system to repair more efficiently.
Thank you

This course was awesome. I fixed three cars better after two sessions. It went
over things that you wouldn't even think of or can't read about. Mike's
explanations were good, techniques were also good. I made better pre-cat testing
equipment thanks to Mike. I have and will continue to tell everyone about this
course. This course layout is much better than Previous courses, longer, which
means the info sinks in. I can and have diagnosed cars better because of this
course. Thanks Mike and Dave. Six days would have been better.

The entire course content from basics through to diagnosis of actual
situations was all beneficial. The instruction was excellent and I would highly
recommend this course to another Technician, air care certified or not.

Benefits for me include Proper form completion and test procedures for 02
Sensors. How to properly test a catalytic converter and the effects of poor
fuel/air ratio on a catalyst. Quality of instruction was excellent. Mike is very
understandable and has great communication skills. I would definitely recommend
this course to others.

A most informative course, it shed some light on grey areas regarding testing
cat efficiency. I t will definitely make the shop 4 gas a much more valuable
tool in the future. A well prepared course with real case history examples. A
must for anybody doing air care repairs.
