The technician will perform electronic diagnostics and design that go beyond textbook applications. The course will allow the Technician to design and build electronic circuits for integration in aftermarket applications.

This 2 day course will introduce the technician to updating computer software and flashing new computers. The technician will determine proper flashing techniques from the popular OEM vehicles. The technician will aslo be aware of the pitfalls involved in flashing vehicles. Use of TSB and website information will be used as well as oem disc flashing and OEM website flashing.
J2534 is an interface standard designed by SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) and mandated by the US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) for vehicle ECU reprogramming. Its purpose is to create an API (Application Programming Interface) which would be adopted by all vehicle manufacturers, allowing the Independent Aftermarket (IAM) the ability to reprogram ECU's without the need for a special dealer-only tool.
